YOU MATTER

Letting people know that they matter to me has been an important factor in my life. There may not be a daily reminder, or even a monthly chat. However, I do find ways to show my love and caring for the people in my life in a variety of ways. Even if my sentiments are disregarded, or my affirmations are viewed with skepticism, I continue to cast seeds of kindness in the gardens of the people in my world. No, I'm not frivolous with my platitudes. I'm sincere and honest, but if there comes a point in my relationship with someone for whom I have freely given love, and that love is mistreated in some form, I do have the strength to gently close the door on that relationship. While I do value others in my life, I also value me. I am a good person on purpose. Therefore, I am careful to be careful with others. I give freely. I give fully. However, I have learned that not everyone understands that love is not always unconditional. When a person treats me with malice or malcontent, I seriously weigh the pros and the cons of having that person in my life. I'm willing to work through difficulties and make amends when things go awry, but I am not willing to allow my goodness to be misused. I do know how to walk quietly away without pomp and circumstance.

So, for the people who allow me to love and affirm them, I do so with great joy. People, do matter, no matter what their circumstance in life may be. So, if I display some random act of kindness toward you, just understand that that's my way. I'm wired like that. If you receive love and kindness, pass it along to someone else. We all matter. I matter. You matter! Pass it along.
